KTU Design Engineer Construct Students

DEC in Lithuania with KTU

Schools in Lithuania are generating extraordinary industry talent thanks to our partnership with Kaunas University of Technology (KTU).

Design Engineer Construct! was introduced to STEM teachers and students in Lithuania in 2018 – and it’s still thriving today!

Starting with three schools from three cities and rising to six schools from five cities, more than 350 students have taken part in a programme of DEC Awards over the years.

An emerging generation of modern industry professionals

Thanks to the fantastic support of #KTU academics from the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture, young people demonstrate exceptional knowledge, creativity and a wide range of real-world skills, including digital modelling and sustainable design practices.

Not only this, but all students present their work in English – their communication and technical language skills are incredible!

We are proud to work with KTU and so impressed with their commitment to support this emerging generation of modern industry professionals.

So will you be when you read the KTU blog from last year’s programme, based on our popular ‘DEC Discover Award’ to design a sustainable outreach centre (an ‘SOS’):

The challenge continues

This year, following our international COYO Challenge, their focus is on the design of a community rail hub.

Teams are connecting local communities to the city’s main station so travellers can access the new Rail Baltica line, 870 kilometres of railway that will connect Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland!

These young people are on track for a great career….THANK YOU KTU!
