COYO Managing Director Alison Watson had the pleasure of attending the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers Patrons’ lunch in April at the House of Lords.
Hosted by Lord O’Neill, himself a major advocate of British Engineering in the Built Environment, the lunch included an engaging presentation from keynote speaker Michael Palwyn, one of the architects behind the wonderful Eden Project in Cornwall.
Michael presented a TED talk in 2010, and with well over a million views, it’s certainly something every Design Engineer Construct! student and teacher should listen to.
Michael describes three habits of nature that could transform architecture and society: radical resource efficiency, closed loops, and drawing energy from the sun.
