Education in Motion

At Education in Motion schools, our decision to work closely with UK education consultancy ‘Class Of Your Own’ (COYO) to integrate their innovative ‘Design Engineer Construct! Learning Programme’ into our Worldwise Future Skills curriculum stems from our commitment to preparing students for the evolving demands of the professional world.

In an era where the built environment sector accounts for a significant portion of global carbon emissions, we recognize the critical importance of equipping our students with the skills to address these challenges head-on.

The programme’s multidisciplinary approach perfectly aligns with our educational philosophy.

By combining digital skills, sustainable design principles, and real-world infrastructure challenges, DEC creates an engaging learning environment that resonates with our high-achieving student body.

We’re particularly impressed by the programme’s strong backing from industry leaders and its track record of opening doors to prestigious careers.

Currently, we have 180 students engaged across two-year groups, with a notably balanced gender representation that’s vital for addressing industry diversity.

Our implementation includes the Home for Everyone DEC Award for Year 8 students and the Recording Studio & Live Venue project for Year 9s, both of which have generated tremendous enthusiasm among our students and teaching staff.

The longer-term aim is to develop the DEC level 3 pathway options in partnership with COYO as part of our development of an innovative new Dulwich International Diploma.

The success of DEC graduates in securing positions with leading firms like Arup, Mott MacDonald, AtkinsRèalis, and Aecom has particularly resonated with our parent community, who value clear pathways to professional careers.

This track record, combined with the programme’s recognition by top universities, provides our students with excellent progression opportunities in the built environment sector.

Looking ahead, we’re expanding our DEC offering to include Level 2 qualifications, further strengthening our commitment to this innovative programme.

The support from industry professionals, including direct involvement from experienced practitioners, ensures our students receive authentic insights into the profession while developing crucial skills in sustainability and digital technology.

In choosing DEC, we’re not just selecting a qualification – we’re investing in our students’ future ability to shape a more sustainable built environment while accessing rewarding professional careers in one of the world’s most dynamic sectors.

Overall, it is a fantastic offing that blends immersive real-world experiences with high level application of traditional scholastic knowledge and skills.

I thoroughly recommend this provider to anyone looking to give students opportunities to realise their future.

ABOUT THE EDUCATION IN MOTION (EiM)

The EiM story began in 2003 with parents Fraser White and Karen Yung, looking for a school in Shanghai that would provide for their three children. Unable to find the right offerings, they built a school where students could receive a challenging and ambitious education that would prepare them for the future and mould them into confident, well-rounded people who could make a difference in the world. Today, Education in Motion is a growing family of premier education brands, nurturing more than 11,000 students to Live Worldwise.
