Class Of Your Own has been shortlisted for the 2021 Better Society Network BETTER SOCIETY AWARDS in the “National Commitment to Skills & Training” category.

The Better Society Network reports on social, environmental and ethical issues that companies have been supporting both indirectly and directly.

It was with great pride that we were able to cite the many examples of collaborative work we do with SMEs, large corporates, government departments and universities in our entry. Together, we’re supporting the next generation of Net Zero Built Environment professionals in schools and colleges, both here in the United Kingdom and internationally through the Design Engineer Construct! Learning Programme.

We cited the recent Case Study of our work with Garenne Group, Skills Jersey and the amazing schools and colleges on Jersey island. A big shout out to The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) Construction Manager of the Year Award winner Marc Burton MBE and Skills Jersey’s Dave Roworth for their terrific support on island.

Good luck to COYO supporters past and present – Berkeley Group and Mott MacDonald (who helped us establish the very first Adopt A School scheme and are still with us today) are also shortlisted in other categories.

We are shortlisted against some giants of industry, but to come this far is IMMENSE.

“Great oaks from little acorns grow”

Our children are living proof (as this award shows) that, no matter how small the seed, it’s the years of nurturing and feeding that makes the big difference.

Success does not happen overnight, it’s a long process, but the results are something to be proud of. Take our very own John Haylett as another amazing example of the result of genuine education and industry collaboration.

Thank you to EVERYONE around the world who has supported COYO over the years, both in person and virtually throughout the pandemic, to help grow this incredible talent – we’re still going strong…and so are our amazing children and their marvellous teachers.

TOGETHER, WE ARE EDUCATING THE FUTURE OF CONSTRUCTION FOR A BETTER SOCIETY.
