We’re delighted to announce a new collaboration with Tech for Kids Academy (TKA) in Cambodia, beginning with our ‘Design a Sustainable Racetrack’ Challenge.

TKA will support Cambodian schools to participate in the Challenge, helping to connect young people with practical, project based learning in design, engineering, digital skills, sustainability and the built environment.

The first phase will aim to engage around 10 Cambodian schools who will be subscribed to our DEC School resource centre where they’ll find helpful webinars and technical support.

We’ll tap into our friends in industry to encourage volunteering from some of the fantastic professionals working on major infrastructure projects across Cambodia.

This is a great opportunity to learn alongside Cambodian schools, teachers and industry, understand what local support is needed and begin exploring how high quality Design Engineer Construct! learning could develop sustainably in Cambodia over time.

TKA’s ambition is to help Cambodian young people apply their learning to real world challenges connected to design, engineering, infrastructure, technology and sustainability.

The collaboration also creates a route to explore wider DEC activity in Cambodia, locally relevant DEC Certified Learning Courses and international qualifications by establishing a ‘DEC Teacher Academy’ to help build long term teaching capacity.

We are very much looking forward to working with the very experienced team at TKA and supporting young design, engineering and construction professionals to shape the future of Cambodia.
